(MAHWAH, N.J.) – February 3, 2017 – Jaguar Land Rover North America, LLC announced today that the company has hired 100 veterans in eight months since launching the Jaguar Land Rover Veterans Careers Program, which connects skilled and experienced Transitioning Service Members and Veterans with positions across the Jaguar Land Rover retail network. Jonathan Irby, a former Navy Petty Officer and F/A-18 Super Hornet jet aircraft mechanic, is the 100th Veteran placed through the initiative, joining the team at Jaguar Land Rover in Austin, Texas.

The U.S. retail network employment plan is managed in collaboration with CALIBRE Systems, Inc. – a management consulting and information technology company that supports government and industry. Jaguar Land Rover has a total of 332 retailers in the United States.

The hiring of Veterans across the retail network serves as an extension of the British automaker’s global commitment to supporting those with military service backgrounds. Jaguar Land Rover will also return as the 2017 presenting partner of the Invictus Games in Toronto, Canada - the international sporting event for Wounded, Ill and Injured Service Members, taking place from Sept. 24-30, 2017.

“The Veterans hired by U.S. retailers through the Jaguar Land Rover Veterans Careers Program display remarkable skill, work ethic, character and loyalty,” said Jeff Jennings, Director for Brand Training and Recognition, Jaguar Land Rover North America, LLC. “These new employees with service backgrounds help us ensure we continue to provide an unrivalled experience for our customers as Jaguar Land Rover experiences record growth in the U.S.”

Irby, the latest Veteran hired through this program at Jaguar Land Rover in Austin, Texas, last served with the Strike Fighter Squadron (VFA-81) at Naval Air Station Oceana, Virginia, where he led 20 naval aviation technicians in the service and repair of some of the world’s most technologically advanced combat aircraft. He joins his fellow Veterans in the “JLR Regiment” who have an average of more than 10 years of experience as they embark on exciting and challenging new careers with Jaguar Land Rover retailers.

Since 2014, both Jaguar Land Rover and its wider supply chain have benefited immensely from the recruitment of highly skilled Transitioning Service Members, Veterans and Wounded, Ill and Injured talent. The luxury automaker has employed more than 200 Veterans in the UK since 2014, far exceeding its original commitment under the Armed Forces Covenant.
