Pfaffenhausen, Germany (February 4, 2020) – RUF Automobile GmbH and publisher Waft have collaborated on a limited run book titled “RUF” which is available now for purchase. The book is divided into two sections – “Alois and Friends” which covers Alois Ruf, the man behind the machines, and “Yellowbird and Friends” which covers the 37 RUF models produced to date.

Waft, a husband and wife publishing duo, created the book using archival photography as well as original images and text. Two versions of the book “RUF” were created – “The Limited Edition,” a hardcover version limited to 911 copies, and “The Very Limited and Personalized Edition,” which is finished in authentic Pepita Ruf seat fabric over a hardcover, custom embroidered with the RUF logo and buyer’s name and is limited to 356 copies. Combined, the two parts include 588 pages of content written in English.

“We are a family business driven by a passion for great cars and lifelong friends,” said Alois Ruf, owner of RUF Automobile GmbH. “This book captures that passion well and is finished to the same standard as our cars, with quality materials and insightful research and writing. We are honored that Waft put this book together and hope everyone enjoys the stories and history of our brand.”

Waft is a multiple award-winning independent publisher of high-quality books on car design and motoring culture. All Waft books are solely available through their web shop, www.waft.be. Like other Waft books, “RUF” is an independent production, yet produced in close collaboration with RUF.

About RUF Automobile GmbH:

In 1939, Alois Ruf Sr. first formed his company, AUTO RUF, as a general service garage. The company grew and in 1949 he added a gas station to the company complex. By 1955, Ruf Sr. recognized a need in Germany for a full-size tourist bus and challenged himself to build his own to run this as a separate business. In 1963, the company began specializing in Porsche vehicles, a direction that Alois Ruf Jr. vowed to continue when he assumed directorship of the company in 1974. In the following year, the first RUF-enhanced Porsche model made its debut. Now it is still family-run by Alois and Estonia Ruf.
